The toll of Indian army soldiers killed in Pakistan firing on the Line of Control in April so far has climbed to four after another jawan died of his injuries on Saturday.

Havaldar Charanjeet Singh had sustained grievous wounds on April 17 when Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing on Indian Army posts along the LoC in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district in Jammu division

“He was immediately evacuated and provided intensive medical care in Military Hospital. However, despite all efforts the gallant soldier succumbed to his injuries in the early hours Friday morning”, said Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand, defence spokesman at Jammu.

Forty-two-year-old 42-year-old Havaldar Charanjeet Singh is survived by his wife Neelam Kumari. He is the fourth soldier to have been killed in Pakistan army firing on the LoC.
