Pakistan Rangers shelled Border Security Force (BSF) outposts and civilian areas killing a Head Constable and a 17-year-old girl and injured four others in Arnia and RS Pora sector in Jammu division. BSF immediately retaliated by killing three Rangers and destroying several Pakistan Outposts.

Head Constable A Suresh of 78th battalion of BSF was killed after being hit a bullet. Another BSF Jawan was injured in the firing.

Pakistan also shelled around 24 villages in the area using mortars. A 17-year-old girl was killed in Pindi Charakan village. Three civilians were also injured. At least four houses were damaged in the cross border shelling.

Director General of BSF KK Sharma said, "There is 1x1 feet loophole in the bunker which is used to fire. Pakistan Rangers targeted this loophole. One of the bullets hit Suresh and he was martyred", he said.

BSF immediately retaliated leading to loss of life and property to Pakistan forces. Sources said at least three Pakistan Rangers were killed and several posts were destroyed.
