Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who is the chief guest for this year’s Republic Day Parade, arrived in the capital with his wife Akie on Saturday, and was received by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Planning Rajiv Shukla.

Abe is on an official visit to India from January 25 to January 27 at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh.

Prime Minister Abe will meet Manmohan Singh for the Annual Summit between India and Japan.

Their discussions will add substance and content to the India- Japan Strategic and Global Partnership.

The visiting dignitary will also call on President Pranab Mukherjee, and witness the Republic Day Parade on 26 January.
