Accusing the main opposition of "hypocrisy" and having "double standards", JD (U) general secretary KC Tyagi showed a photograph to the media purportedly showing BJP Delhi president Harsh Vardhan and convenor of party foriegn cell Vijay Jolly at the inauguration of the restaurant. "The hypocrisy must stop. I have not seen such double standards...you campaign for religion and you are giving a communal colour to the election," Tyagi said.

"In Gujarat, meat production has doubled in ten years. Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries figure says meat production in 2001-02 was 10,600 tonnes which in ten years' time doubled and reached 22,000 tonnes. Figures also show that Gujarat is among the top ten meat-exporting states", Tyagi said.

He claimed this was "contradictory" to BJP manifesto in 2014 which promises to put in place necessary legal framework to protect cow and set up of a national cattle development board.
