A day after violent clashes claimed eight lives during the bypoll in the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency, security forces foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) on Monday, killing at least four militants in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Four militants killed during an infiltration bid in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir,” a statement by the Army said on Monday morning.

Search operations are on in the area. 

Earlier on Sunday, militants fired upon a police station in south Kashmir's Kulgam district but fled after the cops retaliated.
