Two including a 17-year-old from Uttarakhand were killed and 31 others injured when militants hurled a powerful grenade at the busy bus stand at Jammu on Thursday.

Police immediately swung into action and arrested the suspected grenade thrower Yasir Javed Bhat alias Arhan within hours from the Nagrota toll post of Jammu when he was trying to escape to the valley, .

Investigation has revealed that Yasir is a class IX student of a private school in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.  However, the investigators are not convinced with this revelation and are trying to figure out whether he really is a student or a drop out.

Yasir had started from Kashmir on Wednesday and reached Jammu on Thursday morning. Soon after lobbing the grenade at the Bus stand, he tried to return to valley but was caught en route.

What has baffled the investigators that Yasir embarked on a journey when there was one way traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu highway from Jammu to Srinagar? No vehicle is allowed to ply on the opposite side, but Yasir managed to travel and reach Jammu.
