The Army foiled two major infiltration bids on the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC) by killing three terrorists, even as the police arrested a woman Over Ground Worker (OGW) of terrorists and recovered a large quantity of ammunition from her in Srinagar.

Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand, defence spokesman at Jammu, said that a heavily armed Pakistani terrorist was eliminated in Akhnoor Sector on the Indian side of the International Boundary, at about 1:50 pm on Tuesday.

Five pistols, ten pistol magazines, 60 bullets, one AK-47 assault rifle, two AK-47 rifle magazines with 234 rounds of ammunition, fifteen hand grenades and twelve fuses for IEDs were recovered from the slain infiltrator.

In a separate operation, the Army foiled a major infiltration bid and killed two militants on the LoC in the Keran sector of North Kashmir's Kupwara district.

"Infiltration bid eliminated in Keran Sector. Two terrorists killed. Operation in progress," said an army spokesman at Srinagar.

Woman OGW held

Police said a huge quantity of ammunition was recovered from a woman OGW (Over Ground Worker) travelling in a vehicle on the outskirts of Srinagar city. Sources said around 10 grenades and several riffle rounds were seized from the woman
