Jammu and Kashmir: Four terrorists killed in encounter with security forces in Pulwama

Four terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, police said.

Acting on specific information about the presence of terrorists in Hanjan area of Pulwama in south Kashmir, security forces launched a cordon and search operation, a police official said.

He said as the forces were conducting searches, the hiding terrorists fired upon them.

The forces retaliated, leading to the encounter in which four terrorists were killed. 

Arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site. 

The area has been cordoned off and search operation is on to smoke out the remaining terrorists, if any, security officials said.
