Jamiat-ul-Mujahideen, a radical outfit today claimed responsibility for attacks on Jammu and Kashmir law minister Ali Mohd Sagar on Sunday in Srinagar.
Militants made an abortive bid on Sagar's life when they opened indiscriminate firing at his ancestral house where he had gone to attend a family function.
The outfit said that their group Al Jabbar was responsible for the attacks, saying the law minister was their target.
The Law minister had termed it as an act of cowardice, while the home minister had said that a probe had been ordered in the case.
Sagar, who was present in the house at the time of attack, escaped unhurt, however one of his personal security officers was killed and three others injured in the attack at Nawab Bazar in the old city in Srinagar.
