The Indian Space Research Organisation has pressed into service an aircraft with aerial remote sensing capability to help trace Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

The effort is being carried out in coordination with Andhra Pradesh Government, ISRO spokesperson S Satish said.

The aircraft belongs to ISRO's National Remote Sensing Centre based in Hyderabad.

A helicopter carrying Rajasekhara Reddy went missing an hour after it took off from old Begumpet airport at 8.35 am, raising fears about his safety.
