An IPS officer in Kerala was asked to leave during an exam after he was caught cheating, Manorama News reports.

Thrissur Range Inspector General (IG) of Police TJ Jose IPS was sitting for Mahatma Gandhi University exams at St. Paul's College in Kalamassery for LL(M) when has was allegedly caught cheating.

According to the report, the exam invigilator caught the officer 'red-handed' copying during the Crime-II paper examination but did not know at the time that the Jose was an IPS officer. 

Jose, however, has  rejected the claim that he copied during the exam. According to Manorama News, the officer claims he left because he had finished his exams early.

Taking serious note of the incident, MG University has sought a report from the Kalamasseri St. Paul's College Principal. "We have sought a report from the College authorities," university Vice Chancellor Babu Sebastian told PTI. Jose will be debarred, if he is found guilty, university sources said. 

Meanwhile, Kerala Police DGP KS Balasubramaniam has said that he will investigate the incident. Kerala police sources said Northern Region ADGP Shankar Reddy will investigate the matter.
