IPL betting racket busted in Kolkata: 7 arrested, 14 mobile phones recovered

The law enforcement agencies recovered 14 mobile phones including one betting accessory, other stuff has been seized.

At least 7 people were arrested after a cricket betting racket was busted on from F1 block, Eden Gardens in Kolkata. According to reports, the concerned authorities after receiving information regarding cricket betting at Eden Gardens, Kolkata for IPL cricket match played between KKR and RCB nabbed a group of seven people.

A team of ARS, DD after prolong watch was able to fix up a group of seven persons who were involved in cricket betting at F1 Block, Eden Gardens and subsequently seven persons (three persons from Nagpur and four persons from Madhya Pradesh) were arrested from F1 block .

The law enforcement agencies recovered 14 mobile phones including one betting accessory, other stuff has been seized. A  specific case is being recorded at Maidan Police station.

Earlier, on Wednesday, at least 2 people were held along with Rs 1.70 lakh, two cell phones by South Zone Task Force in Telangana after a cricket betting racket was busted during Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Chennai Super Kings match on April 17 (Wednesday).

Based on a tip-off received, two accused held in the cricket betting racket were identified as Mahesh Singh and Sai Kiran Yadav. However, the prime suspect in the case, Sudesh Singh alias Laddu is yet to be nabbed.
