He said farmers' hands used to be always full under the Congress rule. "But soon after the BJP came to power, their (farmers') hands became empty and they have left with nothing now," the former minister said. He was addressing the rally along with the Madhya Pradesh unit Congress president Arun Yadav for the party nominee and former minister Pratap Singh Uikey.

Yadav said though BJP came to power on the promise of "acche din", the cost of lentils has gone up from Rs 55 per kg to Rs 160 per kg. "When (cost of lentils) was Rs 55 per kg, BJP used to say 'mahngai dayan ho gayi hai' (inflation has become a monster). Why the same BJP is treating inflation as its 'mausi' (aunt) now," Yadav asked.
