Even as the BJP was preparing to form a government in Jharkhand, infighting in the party, a hangover from the way tickets were distributed in the elections reared its head.  In a letter written to party president Nitin Gadkari and leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, Nishikant Dubey, MP from Godda in Jharkhand, has complained that he is being made the target of a whisper campaign.

Dubey was influential in the distribution of tickets in the Jharkhand Assembly elections, and was being blamed for the party's poor performance in the state. The party saw a loss of 10 seats from the last elections.
