A special intelligence wing will be formed to secretly collect information and conduct surprise raids on employers failing to deposit their share of employees provident fund. The Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) will set up the  wing in its all six offices across MP.

The decision of forming this Intelligence Wing was taken during an operation and management review meeting of all six regional commissioners held here on Thursday.

"The purpose of the intelligence wing is to tighten the noose on faulty employers," said EPFO commissioner Ajay Mehra. "The wing would collect information from organisations," he added.

Officials in the know-how of the upcoming cell claimed that the wing would carry out surprise surveys in high profile cases, monitor centralised websites of organisations and also pursue tenders and advertisements to keep a tab on the employment developments in organizations.

In addition, officials have also been asked to maintain the records of digital signatures of the subscribers so that online application for PF can be introduced in the coming times. The wing would comprise ficials from the EPFO and the regional commissioners. The regional commissioners have been directed to take pension clearance of retired persons in priority as well as settling the claims for the deceased persons.
