Indore: MPPEB ex-exam controller produced in local court

Special Task Force (STF) produced ex-Exam Controller of MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) before a local court in Indore on Saturday.

The court remanded Dr Trivedi to police custody till October 1.

Dr Trivedi, however, maintained that he was innocent and claimed that he would furnish evidence of his innocence before the court. In a major action, the STF had arrested former Dr Trivedi--Exam Controller MPPEB in connection with PMT-2013 scam on Friday evening. The STF was interrogating Dr Trivedi for the last two days.

On Saturday, the STF officers presented Dr Trivedi before the court of First Class Judicial Magistrate Manoj Kumar Ladia.

The lawyer representing STF requested the court that Dr Trivedi was yet to be questioned completely so he should be remanded in custody till October 3. However, the court only remanded Dr Trivedi in police custody till October 1.

Meanwhile, ABVP workers burnt the effigy of Dr Trivedi at Regal Square on Saturday afternoon, while protesting latter's alleged involvement in the PMT-2013 scam.According to STF officers, Dr Trivedi used to help out one of the accused in the scam and MPPEB principal system analyst Nitin Mahindra. The former MPPEB officer had not offered convincing replies to STF questions during interrogation.

Around ten days ago, the state government had removed Dr Trivedi from MPPEB and had posted him as Assistant Professor at Government MLB College in Bhopal. Crime Branch has arrested total 28 persons including mastermind of the scam Dr Jagdish Sagar, MPPEB system analyst Nitin Mahindra and senior system analyst Ajay Sen, Assistant Programmer CK Mishra and others in connection with the PMT-2013 scam.
