AIMP acting prez inks MoU with Algerian ambassador.
The industrialists from the region are all set to explore possibilities of trade alliances in three North-African countries-- Libya, Algeria and Tunisia.
Delegates from these countries claimed that their countries could open new avenues for regional industry in Europe and Africa.
The delegates deliberated upon prospects of bilateral trade relations with industry representatives at Association of Industries Madhya Pradesh (AIMP) office at Polo Ground on Saturday.
AIMP acting president Vinay Kalani inked MoU with the Algerian ambassador for exploring possibilities of bilateral trade between the two countries. Within two months, the AIMP delegation would visit Algeria for finding trade potential.
Both countries would help each other in marketing of products and exchange of raw material and technology. The MoU seeks partnership in sectors like textile, pharmaceutical, auto parts and engineering.
Echarif Mohammed - Hacene, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria said that both the countries could forge alliances in sector like automotive parts, mechanical tools, engines, agriculture, IT, energy, infrastructure development etc.
Claiming that his country hosts more than 3,500 foreign companies on its soil, Tareka Azouz - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tunisia said that very much like India, Tunisia has stressed on human resource development and sends trained engineers and teachers to other countries.
Boasting about Tunisia's tourism potential, he said that both the countries could work in sectors like textile, agri-business, auto-parts and aerospace. "Tunisia could play as an entry to Europe and Africa for Indian companies," Azouz claimed.
Dr. Ali A S Al - Isawi - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Libya boasted about his country's richness in oil and gas by adding that India is predominant importer of oil for Libya. "We could import spices, raw material, food processing products etc form India," he said, adding that Libya is the country which has lowest custom duty in the world.
