From cloakrooms, retiring rooms to public bathrooms, Indian Railways has been spending a lot of money to revamp railway stations. The ministry is leaving no opportunity to provide passengers with world class facilities just like they get at airports.

Recently, Ambala Cantonment railway station spent Rs 45 lakh to construct a state-of-the-art modern public toilet at platform 1. The newly upgraded washroom has facilities for children and disabled people, reported Times of India. The toilet has been opened on trial basis for now but a formal inauguration is yet to happen, the report added.

Ambala Cantonment railway station director BS Gill told the national daily, "The new facility will be thrown open for public use soon. In first phase, we have provided the facility at platform 1. Next we are planning to cover other platforms as well." He also mentioned that separate arrangement has been made for men, women, children and differently abled people. 

Ambala Cantonment railway station director BS Gill also said that for now the this modern toilet has been developed at Platform 1 only and and later it could be developed for other platforms as well.
