An Indian Coast Guard helicopter crashed near Nandgaon in Maharashtra's Raigad district on Saturday. All four crew members of the helicopter are reported safe.

Initial reports said that the helicopter had made an emergency and hard landing near in Maharashtra around 2:20 pm when the crew spotted a technical glitch as they were doing coastal surveillance. 

The Indian Navy soon pressed its Seaking helicopter with a medical team on-board to provide cover to the crashed chopper. The ICG chopper was located by the Navy and all 4 crew members were rescued and flown back to the Naval Hospital INHS Asvini at Mumbai. 

One woman pilot of the ICG has suffered injuries being treated, ANI reported. 

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) protects the country's maritime interests and enforces the maritime law. The territorial waters of India, including its contiguous zone and exclusive economic zone, come under the ICG's jurisdiction.

It also has a war-time role of assisting the Navy.
