Indian army used artillery guns to target terrorist camps and terror launch pads operating in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) from where the Pak Army was trying to push terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, sources said.

Security forces launched attacks on terrorist camps situated inside PoK opposite Tangdhar sector. The attack was in retaliation to the support provided by the Pakistani Army to push terrorists into the Indian territory.

As per sources, at least four terror launch pads in Neelum valley have been destroyed. Besides heavy casualties to terrorists, three to four personnel of Pak Army have also been killed.

Terrorist launch pads in PoK’s Jura, Athmuqam and Kundalsahi were targeted by Indian Army artillery guns on Saturday night after credible inputs came of a significant number of terrorists operating there, according to sources.

Athmuqam in Neelum district is also Pakistan Army's district headquarters.

Pakistan Army confirmed the Indian fire and alleged that civilians were "deliberately" targeted. In a tweet, Major General Asif Ghafoor, Pak Army's official spokesperson said one of its soldiers and 5 civilians were killed. It also claimed that 9 Indian soldiers were killed in return fire by Pak Army.

The Indian Army denied the claim and said two personnel were martyred and a civilian lost his life in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan in the Tangdhar sector. Three others were also injured.

A house and rice godown, two cars, 2 cow shelters with 19 cattle and sheep inside were also destroyed. Houses in Manyari village in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district were also damaged, following shelling by Pakistan. Angry locals hit out at Pakistan and demanded strong retaliation.

"We're lucky children weren't sleeping inside. We request the PM to give a befitting reply to Pakistan. We've already suffered losses due to firing by Pakistan," locals said.
