Over 99% healthcare workers and frontline workers have been vaccinated with one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, the statement added.
With the administration of 67,04,768 vaccine doses on Monday, India has set a record of 75 crore vaccine doses, which is a big achievement in itself. Over 10 per cent people i.e. about 18 crore people have taken both doses, whereas more than 30% i.e. more than 56.5 crores have taken a single dose. The World Health Organisation. (WHO) has also congratulated India for this achieving this milestone.
"More than 67 lakh (67,04,768) Vaccine Doses have been administered till 5:30 pm today. The daily vaccination tally is expected to increase with the compilation of the final reports for the day by late tonight. The country has also become home to more than 99% HCWs and FLWs vaccinated with one shot of COVID Vaccine," a statement from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare read.

According to the central government, people who have had both doses of the vaccine get 97 per cent protection from the coronavirus. In the case of the children's vaccine, Zydus Cadila's vaccine Zykov D has been approved in India at present. They can vaccinate children by the end of September.
Bharat Biotech's Covaccine may also soon get approval for use for the age group of 12-18. Doctors also believe that first sick children should be vaccinated.
The vaccine is currently being administered to children aged 12-18 years in the US, UK and Canada. India will be the fourth country to start vaccinating children.
