A Pakistani missile was intercepted over Haryana's Sirsa skies early on Saturday morning. A loud explosion was heard in the area, close to the airport, as a missile-like object fell from the sky. Villagers reached the spot and discovered a heavy metallic object resembling a missile. Local authorities informed the Army and the metallic remains resemble a Fatah-2 missile.

Pakistan targeted 26 locations in India on Friday. Chinese SH-15 artillery, Turkish drone, Fatah-2 missile, along with PAF F-16 and JF-17 used by Pakistan in this strike.

What is Fatah-II missile?

The Fatah-II is a guided artillery rocket made by Pakistan. The Pakistan Army first tested it in December 2021 and is an improved version of the earlier Fatah-II rocket.

Fatah-II can hit targets between 250 and 400 kilometers away. It is built to strike military sites like radar stations, supply centers, and bases. The rocket carries regular (non-nuclear) warheads and uses a guidance system that helps it steer accurately as it approaches its target.

To stay on course, Fatah-II uses both inertial navigation (which relies on internal sensors) and satellite navigation. It also flies on a flatter path than most missiles, which makes it harder for air defense systems to spot and intercept. The missile is launched from a vehicle, so it can be moved and fired from different locations quickly and easily.

The Fatah-II is not part of Pakistan’s nuclear missile program; it is a tactical weapon meant for precision strikes in battle. Its accuracy is high, reportedly able to hit within 10 meters of its intended target. The missile’s mobility and unique flight path make it difficult for enemies to detect and defend against.
