The moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference today said the "hostilities" in relations between India and Pakistan should discontinue at the earliest to facilitate dialogue for the resolution of Kashmir issue.
"The leadership of India and Pakistan should rise above petty interests and start the composite dialogue to resolve all outstanding disputes including Kashmir immediately, otherwise the situation would be difficult to handle in case the hostilities continues," chairman of the separatist amalgam Mirwaiz Umer Farooq told a Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid in old city.
"Kashmir is not a military, boundary, regional or land dispute between the two countries. It is a political and human issue which needs to be resolved in accordance to the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir," he said
Mirwaiz said India should include Kashmiri leadership in the composite dialogue adding, "the confrontation will increase if any attempt is made to keep Kashmir in the cold-storage or maintain the status quo.
