Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore highlights several points in a freewheeling chat.
In Zee News organised India ka DNA conclave, Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore highlighted why he believes PM Modi is sure to get a second term. He said that in 2014, the nation had known our names, now they know our work too.
Referring to PM Modi's Pakistan policy, Union Minister said," 'Unhone Pakistani ko kutniti mein bahut kuta". When asked about how the BJP is looking to counter anti-incumbency, Rathore said that there is pro-incumbency now as people want PM Modi back in power. According to Rathore, India always had the potential but lacked the able leadership, which is the biggest change pre-2014 and now.
Rathore in a sarcastic tone said that opposition is very much impressed with BJP's work and hence have come together with a single agenda of defeating Modi. He said like some other countries, their agenda is Modi hatao. Regarding his work, Rathore said that he has maintained a very high standard of political discourse and people have seen the work done by him.
In the last Lok Sabha election, BJP did exceptionally well in Rajasthan. When quizzed if the party can repeat similar performance in 2019, Rathore evaded a direct answer and said that he is just a soldier of the party, who is concentrating on winning his own seat. He said that perception about people has changed now. And in rural Rajasthan, he is getting massive response from people who will repose their faith on PM Modi, said Rathore. Union Minister said that the development done by the NDA government is for everyone to see.
Rathore said that Congress may have got power by misleading people in three states recently, but already they stand exposed.
Rathore completely dismissed Congress' proposed NYAY scheme saying that Congress is clueless and it isn't clear about what they are trying to achieve.Regarding Rahul Gandhi contesting from Wayanad, Rathore said that he will have no place to run away. Rathore promised that BJP will ensure that Rahul Gandhi faces stern test from wherever he is contesting.
Emphasising on India's enhanced global clout, he gave the example of Narasimha Rao and said that former PM had to back out from doing a nuclear test when bigger powers showed him proof of preparation of the test. He said that now India does things and then announces it to the world, alluding to the recent A-SAT launch. Rathore also said that India's defence policy has changed and the armed forces have showed its power to ensure that there is peace.
When asked about whether his popularity is same after becoming a politician, Rathore said that like during his Army tenure, he is trying to ensure the best for the country. Rathore said that the battle is for India's future, and in this Mahabharata, people have to pick their sides. Either they are with the good or they are siding with the bad elements, said Rathore.
Exuding confidence about NDA's victory, Rathore said that much work still remains to be done and a plan for the first 100 days of the new government is also there. Rathor signed off saying that he is a sportsman and a soldier and as nature, he looks to ensure to win when going into a fight.
