IIM-Visakhapatnam to start sessions from today
The orientation classes for the new session were held in the building on Monday.
IIM-Visakhapatnam opened the institute for sessions on Monday. The institute is currently operating from the Andhra Bank-sponsored building at the AU Management Block.
The orientation classes for the new session were held in the building on Monday, however, regular classes are expected to begin from September 28. Around 60 students have enrolled in the first batch of the institute.
Recruitment of the teaching faculty and the administrative department will begin after six months, till the time being teaching faculty from IIM- Bengaluru will fly in every week to conduct classes for the students of IIM-V.
As for accommodation facilities, apartments have been provided at a complex for students. The foundation for building the IIM at Visakhapatnam was laid on January 17, 2015 at Gambheeram village, about 25 km from Visakhapatnam. IIM- Visakhapatnam is listed as the 14th IIM in the country.
