Actor-turned-politician and BJP candidate from Gurdaspur, Sunny Deol said there is time for him to become a politician and the love he is getting during his campaign will surely be turning into votes for him. Talking to Zee Media, Ghayal fame actor says, “To become a politician, it will take time. People are loving me and affections are been showered by the people on me. I am sure that this love will be converted to votes for me.”

On the campaign trail, Sunny Deol meets people, talks to them, and have selfies with fans. The youth of Gurdaspur on the roadside are elated to see the star descend from the silver screen to the roads. 

“They are afraid as people trust me. I don’t want to speak more on the allegation hurled on me. I wish to correct a lot of things that are affecting people here,” says Sunny Deol on the question of Sunil Jakhar jibe on him. 

Sunil Jakhar has targetted Sunny Deol saying he hasn’t shown anything ‘beyond film dialogue delivery. replying to this comment, Gurdaspur candidate from Saffron party says, “I have worked in film Industry also and helped many people. People recognise me because of my films. I am trying to tell the people of Gurdaspur what the real issues.” “The way they are responding...seems they are afraid. I feel they should not be afraid, they must do their works. It doesn’t bother me what people say. They can say what they want to. I’ve never been afraid in my life. People are with me and my family is with me,” adds Sunny. 

Sunny Deol has been on target of Congress ever since he was nominated the candidate from Gurdaspur, one of three seats of BJP quota. Replying to the allegations hurled by Congress he says, “If I am a flop, then why they are afraid of me. People of the good family don’t hurl bad words to anyone.”

Talking on his family’s association with BJP, Sunny says that there is no one to compete with PM Modi. “He is surely going to win. My father was associated with former PM Vajpayee, and I am now with Narendra Modi ji.”
