Reason for Cancellation: Security Concerns

Tina Dabi issued an official order stating that the venue for the cultural program was situated very close to the international India-Pakistan border. According to government notifications from 1961 and 1996, the area near the border is a restricted zone where only residents are allowed, and others need special permission to enter. The proposed site for the event is just 5 kilometers from the India-Pakistan border, and considering national security, it was deemed inappropriate to host the event there.

The order further mentioned that some local residents had filed complaints regarding the event. These residents, including Raisingh, Girdharsingh, and Revantsingh, submitted an application stating that the event could lead to suspicious activities due to the presence of outsiders, potentially causing problems for the local community. They also raised concerns about the impact on national security, requesting the cancellation of the event, which ultimately led to the decision.

Setback for MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati

For Shiv MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati, this decision is a major setback. Bhati had been busy with the preparations for the event, including the poster launch. Rohidi village, being just 5 kilometers away from the border, is considered a sensitive area, and any activities near such zones are closely monitored due to security concerns.

The cancellation of the cultural event is a reminder of the strict regulations in border areas, and it also highlights the importance of considering national security while planning events close to sensitive locations.
