Dujana, category 'A' militant who carried a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head was also wanted in many militancy-related attacks on security forces and political workers in south Kashmir.

In a phone call with an Army officer, Dujana refused to surrender and admitted that he had left behind his parents in Gilgit-Baltistan for jihad.

Dujana also asked the officer 'how he was', after speaking to Kashmiri civilian who was commissioned to begin the conversation.

When asked why he was not surrendering, Dujana told the officer that he had left home for martyrdom. "Sometimes we are ahead, sometimes you—today you caught me. Congratulations. Now do what you have to," Dujana said.

The slain militant also said that his parents were dead for him since the day he left them behind. He also refused to show any concern for them.

The officer repeatedly made appeal to save Kashmiris and not recruit youth for terror. However, Dujana ended the conversation.

Dujana, believed to be in his late 20s, was killed in a well-planned operation by a joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and CRPF in Pulwama district of south Kashmir.

The inmates of the house where he was holed up had told police that he claimed to be from Karachi.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir police is going to approach the Pakistan High Commission via the Union home ministry to take the body of Abu Dujana, the Lashkar-e-Taiba commander gunned down in south Kashmir.

It will be the first time that the Pakistan High Commission is asked to claim the body of a militant killed in Kashmir Valley.
