Chidambaram had sent the letter on December 24 in which he criticised the state's law and order and called for disarming and demobilisation of CPI(M) armed cadres in Jangalmahal.
West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today said that he had received Union home minister P Chidambaram's letter and would reply to it.

"I have received the letter. I will give a reply," he told reporters at the state secretariat when asked about Chidambaram's letter.
Yesterday Union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee had said state should reply to the letter.
