Hyderabad: CBI arrests 2 Income Tax inspectors on bribery charges

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two Income Tax inspectors of the Aayaker Bhavan at Hyderabad’s Basheerbagh on the allegations of accepting a bribe of Rs 80,000.

The CBI has registered a case against an I-T inspector on the allegations that the accused demanded a bribe from the complainant for closing an Income tax matter pending against the latter.

The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused and also another tax inspector while accepting bribes of Rs 30,000 and Rs 50,000, respectively. 

Searches have been conducted on the premises of the accused which led to the recovery of incriminating documents and cash of around Rs 5,50,000.

Both the arrested accused have been produced before the Special Judge for CBI Cases, Hyderabad.
