Noor says she was sent a WhatsApp message saying, 'talaq, talaq, talaq', a few months ago. Fathima received a similar message via an email. Following the communication, the women were thrown out of their homes by their in-laws.

Noor says that her husband used to ask for videos of their children, but then, out of the blue, sent a talaq message. "He has to tell me what I did wrong. What is my mistake? This is not right," she says.

Their father-in-law said, "My sons have sent the necessary documents to them."

The women sat in front of their house to protest that they be allowed to stay with Fathima's children. But when that did not work, they went to the police.

The police filed a case against the husbands and in-laws under sections relating to harassment of a married woman, attempt to outrage modesty of a woman and assault.

South Zone DCP V Satyanarayana said that the father-in-law has been told that the women cannot be thrown out of the house. He added that the women said that triple talaq and the documents sent by the husbands were not as per Shariyat and they wanted a divorce which abided by the Islamic law valid in court.
