Senior JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav feels the huge number of kanwariyas seen marching on roads to offer prayers is manifestation of the large-scale unemployment in the country. Attacking the Modi dispensation over its "failure" in generating enough employment, Yadav said that despite BJP's promise of creating two crore jobs every year, nearly "1.3 crore youths" are joining the unemployed lot per annum.

"Kanwariyas, who go to offer the prayers in such huge numbers, are indicative of increasing unemployment in the country. If the youths were not unemployed such large number of kanwariyas would not have been on the march," he said on Friday.

On the ongoing unrest in Kashmir, the JD(U) leader said the Centre should call an all-party meet on the issue which should also be attended by the Hurriyat leaders.

"Hurriyat leaders should also be included in the meeting. Because such meets have been happening in the past even during the UPA rule on the Kashmir issue," he said.
