Howrah: Girl jumps off three-storied building to escape rape, 3 arrested
The girl tried to escape after the three accused started forcing themselves on her
A 20-year-old girl jumped off a three-storied building in Howrah, to escape a rape attempt on her, on Sunday night.
The victim had travelled to Liluah from Rishra in Howrah and had put up at a friend's place. However, the youth there tried to make her forcibly drink a spiked drink.
Later, the accused started forcing themselves on the victim. To escape this, she jumped off the balcony of the three-storied building and suffered serious injuries.
She was rushed to the Howrah hospital with major injuries. Her condition continues to remain critical.
Meanwhile, three accused have been arrested by the Liluah police station and will be produced before the local court here today. The accused have been booked under charges of molestation.
