As the concerned authorities continue  a large scale manhunt for those who attended the religious congregation at New Delhi's Nizamuddin--possibly one of the biggest hotspot of the coronavirus outbreak--information extracted from the coronavirus patients in Telangana lead to the massive disclosure.

Sources in the Health Ministry close to Zee News told that the first piece of information about the religious gathering came from nine Indonesian nationals who tested positive for COVID-19. In an attempt to trace down their contacts, the hospital authorities learned about the Tablighi meet at the Nizamuddin Markaz.

The information was conveyed to the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) who later passed on the news to the Delhi government on March 19, who sent a team to the Markaz on March 20. But, the team was not able to gather any information of attendees who are still staying inside the Markaz. However, they still could not gather information about the Muslim devotees couped up inside the mosque.

After this, the NCDC then formed a group on behalf of the Public Health Foundation of India (PHI) to find out what the situation was inside the Markaz. Subsequently, it got to know about the huge gathering inside.

About 9,000 Tablighi Jamaat members and their primary contacts have been quarantined in the country, a Home ministry official said.
