Three people burgled a house in the Sarkhej area in the wee hours of Saturday and decamped with a sizeable booty comprising several lakhs. According to sources, the house in Chudgar farm in the Mohammedpura area belongs to one Manish Natubhai Patel (40).

The burglars entered the premises by breaking open the grill of the drawing room of the bungalow when the occupants of the house were asleep. However, Patel woke up when the burglars were busy. Alarmed at the discovery, they threatened Patel with dire consequences if he did not hand over the keys of his locker to them. The burglars robbed Rs25 lakh in cash besides other valuables.

Patel identified one of the robbers as wearing vest and trousers. However, when contacted, RM Sarode investigating officer of the case said that investigations were on and said, "The robbers will be identified soon."
