The Himachal Pradesh government has set up a commission for protection of child rights to ensure that kids in the state are not exploited.

The panel would be headed by Shyma Dogra, former member of Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), who assumed the charge on . Shyma said three other members of the panel have already been appointed while two members will be appointed soon.

Speaking to the media here on Saurday, Shyma said the panel would soon visit places where children are exposed to exploitation. She said the panel has powers to take suo moto notice of reports regarding violation of child rights and take action against the defaulters.

The panel would make every effort to ensure that rights of children were not infringed upon in any way in the state, she said.
