In the wake of a spate of naxal attacks in Bihar and Jharkhand, a high-level meeting has been convened in the Home Ministry on Wednesday.

The meeting will review the security situation in naxal affected areas of Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, and Andhra Pradesh which are going to polls on Thursday, a home ministry official said.

The Centre is in close touch with the state governments where the attacks have taken place recently, the official said.

Maoists carried out a series of attacks in Bihar and Jharkhand on Wednesday. They also seized a train with 700 passengers for over four hours.
