Heavy showers lashed Madurai
Heavy rains lashed Rajapalayam, Kodainkanal and some parts of Theni district last night.
Heavy showers lashed Madurai for about half an hour today, providing relief for denizens from the sweltering heat.
The rains coincided with the Annual chitrai festival at Sri Meenakshi temple when the procession deity was taken around the Masi streets on "Kamadhenu"and "Kailasha Parvadham" Vahanams.
Some roads were inundated.
Heavy rains lashed Rajapalayam, Kodainkanal and some parts of Theni district last night.
The catchment areas of Periyar dam also received heavy rains mid-night last night.
