A local court has adjourned the hearing against Unitech chairman and managing director Sanjay Chandra in connection with a cheating case and has fixed May 21 for his personal appearance before it.Chandra's advocate during the hearing yesterday explained his client's inability to appear in the Noida magistrate's court as he is presently lodged in Tihar jail for his alleged involvement in the second generation mobile telephony spectrum allocation scam.Vinay Kahitan had lodged a case against Chandra and four others in 2009, alleging that he had paid them Rs4.32 crore to purchase a flat but was cheated of it.As Chandra was unable to appear in court yesterday as he is currently lodged in Tihar jail, the court adjourned the proceedings and asked him to appear before it on May 21.
