For some running enthusiasts in the city, the experience of marathon so far was restricted to watching Mumbai marathon on the TV as Ahmedabad did not have its own race.
But in adversity lies the opportunity and seeing business tycoon Anil Ambani passionately run on Marine Drive inspired the 68-year-old Kanaiyalal Tripathi to start running.
“Once while watching the Mumbai marathon on television, I was amazed to see Anil Ambani’s dedication.
He ran diligently and completed 21 km without any frills, hype and trouble. I was inspired to take up running and since then have been running every morning,” says Tripathi, while making final preparations for the race on Sunday.
