According to Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Superintendent of Lok Nayak Jay Parkash (LNJP) Civil Hospital, Kurukshetra, one aspirant died at LNJP Hospital, while the other died at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.

The youth who died at PGMIR has been identified by police as Somvir, a resident of Bhiwani district, while the other victim who hails from Hisar died at LNJP Hospital. According to sources, as many as 54 people have been admitted to hospital in a drugged condition.

Inspector Dilip Singh, who reached the spot, has started inquest proceedings into the matter. As per reports, a police recruitment drive is going on from June 15 to July 4 for 10,000 posts of constables in the Haryana Police, in which nearly five lakh candidates are expected to participate. The candidates are required to cover a distance of 5km in 25 minutes as a prerequisite to their selection process.

However, Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner Rajnarayan Kaushik, said there is no facility to conduct dope test at the recruitment centre, prompting use of banned drugs by young participants who want to enhance their physical performance. Meanwhile, police have handed over the bodies to their claimants after post-mortem.
