Stressing that his dispensation aimed at ensuring good governance, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday asked officials to ensure transparency in development projects so as to increase people's faith in the government. Addressing BJP workers in Karnal, Khattar said his government aimed at ensuring good governance.

Expressing concern over some development works being carried out at "snail's pace" during the previous government, he directed officers to speedily execute all works. For this, they would have to change their style of functioning, he said.

Khattar told officials to ensure transparency in development projects to increase people's faith in the government.

"I have visited all 21 districts during the past 65 days. I not only listened to the problems of the people, but also sought their suggestions which would be factored in while framing new policies for providing good governance in the state," he added.

With elections to Panchayati Raj Institutions due to be held in the next few months, Khattar exhorted party workers to work unitedly and asked them to enrol maximum number of people in the party, right up to the grassroots level.

He sought their support in providing corruption-free government in the state and said it would be possible only if they worked with utmost dedication and restraint. He asked them to keep a vigil that benefits of various schemes of the Centre and the state government reach the common man.

Lauding the efforts of party workers, Khattar, who is the MLA from Karnal, said against the target of enrolling 1,11,111 new members in party in the district, as many as 1,18,150 had already been enrolled.
