Counting of votes for Haryana Assembly Elections 2019 concluded. Attracting the limelight is Dushyant Chautala, leader of the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) who managed to replace the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), as the third force in the state. INLD, which ruled the state from 2000 to 2004 was once the main opposition party in Haryana.

JJP only emerged last year and has received a remarkable mandate from the people of Haryana. The party whose symbol on the ballot box is a key might be a 'key' player in deciding who gets to form the next government in Haryana.

According to the Election Commission trends, BJP won 40 seats and the Congress won 31 seats.

The majority mark in the Haryana assembly is 46. With neither party looking to win the majority, JJP is emerging to be the kingmaker becoming the third-largest party by winning 10 seats.

65% of over 1.83 crore voters turned up to use their franchise on Monday. The Election Commission of India had set up 19,578 polling stations.

The campaign drew to a close on October 19 with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, JJP's Dushyant Chautala, and INLD's Abhay Singh Chautala, being the top leaders who campaigned in Haryana.

In the last polls held in 2014, the BJP had won 47 seats and added one more seat after winning Jind by-poll earlier this year. The INLD had won 19 seats in the assembly while the Congress had 15 legislators.

The BSP and the SAD had bagged one seat each while five Independents were also victorious.

Final results:

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)- 40

Indian National Congress (INC)-  31

Jannayak Janta Party (JJP)- 10

Independent-7

Indian National Lok Dal (INLD)- 1

Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP)-1
