Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish  Rawat has asked officials to think about ways to strengthen communication system in the calamity-prone districts of the state including Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Rudraprayag, and Uttarkashi which were among the worst hit in last year's deluge.

Underlining the need to increase mobile density in these districts, he said four additional V-sats should be set up in Dharchula to cover a larger population under mobile connectivity.

Chairing a meeting here yesterday, to review connectivity in these hilly districts, Rawat also asked officials concerned to set up additional mobile towers at Lohajung, Vaan and other places located on Nanda Raj Jaat and Kailash-Mansarovar yatra routes which are sensitive to landslides.
