Javed Akhtar hits out Kiren Rijiju after his comment on Kargil martyr's daughter.
Renowned lyricist Javed Akhtar on Tuesday hit out at Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, without taking his name, for asking who was polluting Kargil martyr daughter's mind.
Re-tweeting a tweet shared by Actor Randeep Hooda, Rijiju had on Monday commented saying, "Who's polluting this young girl's mind? A strong Arm Force prevents a war. India never attacked anyone but a weak India was always invaded."
Gurmehar Kaur, daughter of Kargil martyr's Captain Mandeep Singh and a student of Lady Sri Ram College had started the campaign "I am not afraid of ABVP", following the violence at Ramjas college, which went viral and received massive support from students across various universities.
Kaur, in one of her earlier videos which had gone viral in May, had posted: “Pakistan did not kill my dad, war killed him.”

Taking to micro-blogging site, Javed Akhtar said, "I don't know about her but Mr Minister I know who is polluting your mind."
Dismissing claims of being 'anti-national', Kaur has defended her demand for a violence-free university campus, adding she was not being influenced by anybody.
"I am not anti-national. My mind is not polluted. I have a mind of my own. I am an adult and can think and take individual decisions," Kaur told ANI in response to the statement by Rijiju.
The whole controversy over Ramjas College clash and a campaign launched by Kaur took a political turn on Monday after Rijiju's comment. However, after receiving rape threats and stating that she had been through a lot, Kaur has now withdrawn from her campaign.
Ramjas College had on Wednesday witnessed large-scale violence between members of AISA and ABVP workers. The genesis of the clash was an invite to JNU students Umar Khalid and Shehla Rashid to address a seminar on 'Culture of Protests' which was withdrawn by the college authorities following opposition by the RSS student wing.
