Colleges affiliated to Gujarat University (GU) will soon get high speed broadband connectivity. GU vice-chancellor Dr Parimal Trivedi on Tuesday said that around 400 colleges will benefit from this move.

Trivedi said that each college would get 20 connections by paying an annual fee of Rs1,125. The internet connection will be available at a speed of 512 kbph. Rest of the expense for the connection will be borne by BSNL and MHRD, he said.

The move, according to him, will enable students and faculties at the GU to get access to extensive study material available on different websites and help them enhance their knowledge.
