The Supreme Court Thursday said it would pass directions on the basis of the confidential report on the investigation carried out by the SIT into the alleged role of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and others in the killing of Congress MP Ehsan Jafri in Ahmedabad during 2002 riots. The report analyses the investigation and evidence recorderd by the SIT which reportedly had given a clean chit to Modi."It is an elaborate report. The amicus curaie has tried to cover all aspects. We have read it. We will pass certain directions," a special bench comprising justices DK Jain, P Sathasivam and Aftab Alam said."We will pass order and indicate the future course of action," it further said. The bench also turned down the plea of the state government seeking a copy of the report and said it would be given only at the appropriate stage."You will get everything at the appropriate stage. It is too early. We are not directing to give a copy to anyone and we would keep it confidential," the bench said.
