A massive fire broke out on Tuesday morning at the Raghuvir textile market in Surat. According to reports, more than 50 fire tenders were dispatched to the spot, owing to the enormity of the flames that had gutted the ten-storeyed building.
Later, it was reported that the fire was under control and the cooling operations were underway.

A thick layer of smoke had engulfed the entire area surrounding the market complex.
The cause of the fire has not yet been known.
Earlier in the month, there was a minor fire on the ninth floor of the same complex.
The city of Surat holds tragic memories of fires as last year in May, at least 20 students were killed after being caught in flames once a huge fire broke out at Takshashila Arcade, a coaching center in the city's Sarthana area. Several videos posted on social media had shown desperate students jumping out of windows of the four-storeyed building to escape the flames, with most of the teens, unfortunately, meeting with their demise.
