AHMEDABAD: Gujarat's additional director general of police R B Sreekumar got a reprieve on Monday.
 
The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) asked the state government to stop all departmental proceedings against the senior cop till its final order.
 
Sreekumar, a 1971 batch Gujarat cadre IPS officer, held the crucial position of additional director general of police in charge of the State Intelligence Bureau between April 9 and September 18, 2002.
 
After he filed an affidavit before the Nanavati-Shah Commission inquiring into 2002 riots and testified before the Commission about the role of the state government in the riots, Sreekumar was superceded and departmental proceedings were initiated against him.
