The state government owned Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) is in search of the owners of four laptops which were found abandoned in a Nadiad bound bus from Vapi two years back.

The GSRTC authorities have written a letter to computer manufacturing company HCL Limited and formally intimated the state police department to find out claimants of the electronic gadgets.

"The four computers, including two Notebook mini laptops, were lying unclaimed in the bus two years back. Now we are making attempts to trace their real owners. We have written letters to HCL by giving ID numbers of the laptops," said PD Patel, a GSRTC spokesperson.

According to sources, RS Sodha and Rajesh Chauhan, driver and conductor of the Vapi-Nadiad bus had found four laptops on February 17, 2009 and had handed them over to the GSRTC administration. However, the authorities did not make attempt to find out the rightful owners of the electronic items by following normal procedures.

The episode came to light when a GSRTC officer demanded the laptops for official use. It was then that the concerned officials decided to find out the real owners and started the process
